biko passed away at our home peacefully with Dr. Diaz's assistance

biko was almost 17 years old

the day before she passed she looked out the window for a while. it was really sweet.

biko had a slow growing malignant tumor common in senior citizen cats. chemo and surgery were not recommended.

our last night

biko lived a very happy life and she was a wonderfully cheerful cat

dr. diaz, the best vet on the planet, came to our home and walked us through the process of letting go

here's little biko a few months old and all ready to be my new partner in life

we had a lot of good times together

I like to see the dust particles / In the sunlight

From our bed / The glistening speckles / They take shape / In my mind

I try to catch a glimpse of you / As the light reflects their passing by

But it's too hard to tell / The tears blind my eyes

All things come to an end / But we open and close doors

Breaks in our path we mend / But I shall look for you

In the snowflakes so much larger / For i am close behind you

And though your name / May come to my tongue less

And your presence i remember / Only in the days i've chosen

I have screamed your name today

So that it will echo back to me

The day you return into my arms to rest and all is frozen. Happy we had our three cats. They were the best!

biko, please forgive us any moment we took you for granted

thank you for all the kisses

thank you for tolerating us and our silliness

thank you for the belly rubs

thank you for making biscuits in the air when we pet your belly

and for cuddling

and the song birds are singing like they know the score

and i love you, i love you, like never before

So I try to say / Goodbye my friend / I'd like to leave you with something warm

But never have I been a blue calm sea / I have always been a storm

I loved you from the start / And not all the prayers in the world -- could save us

biko liked to get into a fur circle and cover her eyes while sleeping
